Effective 2026-09-20 · Binding for beta participants
textjott™ Private Beta — Participation Agreement
Version beta-terms-2026-09-21. This Private Beta Participation Agreement (“Agreement”) is a binding agreement between you and TEXTJOTT™ / textjott™ doing business as Textjott (Utah assumed name / DBA, entity # 14740002-0151; “JoTT,” “we,” “us”). Preferred brand capitalization in prose is TextJoTT; the signature logo is jott.™ (period included). Current legal structure: sole proprietorship operating as Textjott — a separate TextJoTT LLC has not been formed. Affirmative acceptance (web checkbox or SMS AGREE) is required before activation. By accepting, you agree to this Agreement and acknowledge the Privacy Notice.
1. Eligibility — age gate
You must be at least 18 years old to participate. The beta is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it. By accepting, you represent that you are 18 or older.
2. Beta participation
You are participating in a pre-release private beta of textjott™ / jott.™ JoTT helps you save and find personal memories — people, places, things, and moments — by text and in a web console. The product is under active development. Features may change, malfunction, become unavailable, produce incomplete or inaccurate results, or be discontinued. Participation does not imply that a particular feature will become commercially available.
Access is personal, limited, revocable, and non-transferable except where JoTT expressly permits invitations or referrals. JoTT may suspend access when reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or operation of the beta.
AS IS. THE BETA IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
3. Privacy Notice
How we collect, store, process, export, and delete information is described in the Privacy Notice and our Subprocessors list. By accepting you acknowledge those documents. If this Agreement or the Privacy Notice materially changes, JoTT may require re-acceptance before continued use.
4. Permission to send operational text messages
By opting in (website consent checkbox and verification, or by texting JoTT and replying AGREE), you give permission for JoTT to send recurring automated operational text messages to the phone number you provide, including: login / verification codes, onboarding and welcome messages, replies to messages you send, trial and subscription notices, and support messages.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. This is not third-party marketing or lead generation. See SMS Terms, SMS Privacy, and SMS opt-in consent.
5. STOP and HELP
- Reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT) to end JoTT texts.
- Reply START to resubscribe after opting out.
- Reply HELP (or INFO) for help, or email support@textjott.com.
Texting 831-777-JOTT: the first message presents this Agreement and the Privacy Notice. Reply AGREE to activate. JoTT will not accept memories until AGREE is recorded.
6. Consent to collect and analyze product feedback
By participating, you consent to JoTT collecting and analyzing product feedback you voluntarily provide — including bug reports, suggestions, usability observations, and in-product feedback — so we can operate, improve, and commercialize the service.
- You retain rights in content you submit about people and events (your memories).
- JoTT retains its pre-existing platform and intellectual property.
- You grant JoTT a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, modify, and commercialize ordinary product feedback, ideas, and suggestions you submit about JoTT itself (not your relationship memories), without obligation to you.
- If you believe you are contributing a patentable invention beyond ordinary feedback, email support@textjott.com with subject “Inventorship” before disclosing details; do not assume feedback assignment covers inventorship.
7. Information about other people
JoTT stores relationship context you intentionally supply, which often includes information about other people (names, family details, preferences, events). You are solely responsible for what you submit.
- Only submit information you have a lawful right to provide.
- Do not use JoTT to harass, stalk, defame, or unlawfully monitor anyone.
- Do not submit special-category or highly sensitive data about others (see §8).
- Other people are not JoTT users merely because you mention them; you remain accountable for those submissions.
- If someone asks you (or us) to remove information you submitted about them, cooperate promptly; we may delete or restrict content when required by law or our policies.
8. Prohibited sensitive information
Do not enter passwords, payment-card or other financial account numbers, government identification numbers, authentication / one-time codes meant for other services, medical records or other highly sensitive health information, or any other information JoTT marks as prohibited.
JoTT is for intentional relationship context you choose to save — not a vault for secrets, banking, or medical records. We may refuse, block, or delete prohibited content.
9. Storage, AI processing, export, and deletion
When you save a memory, JoTT stores the content you send (and related account / delivery metadata) so you can find it later by text or in the console. To operate the product, JoTT may use automated and AI-assisted processing to help organize, match, and return your memories to you. Processing is for providing the service you requested — not for selling your relationship memories as advertising data.
- Storage: Memories are stored in your account so you can save and find them later.
- AI processing: Automated tools may help JoTT understand and return what you asked to remember. We do not use your relationship memories to train third-party foundation models for their general use (see Privacy Notice).
- Export: Text EXPORT when available, or email support@textjott.com.
- Deletion: Text DELETE when available, or email support@textjott.com. Some operational records may be retained as required to operate the service or comply with law.
Vendors that help us run JoTT are listed at textjott.com/subprocessors.
10. No guarantee of permanent retention
Beta data is not guaranteed to be permanently retained. Pre-release systems may be reset, migrated, or discontinued. Backups may be incomplete. Do not rely on JoTT as your only copy of important information. Export anything you need to keep. JoTT is not liable for loss of beta data beyond what applicable law requires.
11. Your memories and content
You retain whatever rights you have in content you submit. You grant JoTT the limited rights necessary to host, process, organize, find, transmit, and otherwise operate the beta service as described in this Agreement and the Privacy Notice.
12. No reliance on beta output
Beta results may be incorrect, incomplete, or matched to the wrong person. Verify important information before relying on it.
13. Confidentiality and JoTT intellectual property
Non-public JoTT technology, workflows, interfaces, prototypes, documentation, product concepts, and other materials identified as confidential or reasonably understood to be confidential are proprietary information of JoTT and may not be copied, reverse engineered, publicly disclosed, distributed, commercially exploited, or used to develop a competing product except as permitted by applicable law or with JoTT’s written authorization.
Participation does not transfer ownership of JoTT technology or intellectual property to you.
No public technical disclosure. Do not publish non-public technical implementation information or confidential beta materials obtained through private beta access without authorization.
14. Security
Do not attempt to circumvent authentication, access another person’s JoTTs, probe production infrastructure, extract source code, defeat rate limits, or exploit vulnerabilities. Report security issues to support@textjott.com (subject: Security).
15. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JoTT AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE BETA. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THIS AGREEMENT WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE BETA IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (US$50).
16. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Utah, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Exclusive venue for disputes is the state or federal courts located in Utah, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
