Your JoTTs are private.

Yours.

You control them. Your relationships aren’t advertising data. We don’t share thought and memory with other people or advertisers. You must be 18 or older to use JoTT.

Effective 1 October 2026. Machine version poc-2026-09-privacy-5.

Plain answers

Verified against this policy and subprocessors. We do not publish absolute promises beyond what architecture and vendor agreements support.

Where are my JoTTs stored?
In your TextJoTT account on US cloud hosting (application + database), with encryption in transit and at rest. Region details: support@textjott.com. Edge/CDN: Cloudflare. See Subprocessors.
Who can access them?
You, and authorized TextJoTT operators or subprocessors only as needed to run the service (SMS, hosting, payments, optional AI processing). Not other users. Not advertisers.
Can SMS providers see messages?
Yes, to the extent required to deliver SMS/MMS. Twilio processes message content and related metadata to route texts. Carriers may also process delivery metadata. That is a transport limitation of SMS — not TextJoTT selling your memories.
How long are memories retained?
While your account is active, for product operation. Beta: we do not guarantee permanent retention — systems may reset or migrate. Export what you need to keep. Some operational records (carrier logs, billing, legal acceptance) may be retained as needed to run the service or comply with law.
Can I delete everything?
Text DELETE when available, or email support@textjott.com. Portable copy first via EXPORT. Exceptions: records we must keep for abuse prevention, billing, or law.
Is my data used for AI training?
We do not use your thought and memory to train third-party foundation models for their general or public use. When an AI provider is enabled, it is a subprocessor for operating JoTT for you. Preferred private-recall keeps processing on TextJoTT-operated systems. See Subprocessors.
Is my information sold or used for ads?
No. Your JoTTs are not sold and are not shared with other people or advertisers. SMS opt-in data is not sold or transferred for third-party marketing. Optional Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics website analytics (homepage only, off by default; Clarity is masked) is separate from JoTT memory.

How we keep information from being shared

Optional website analytics

With your permission, we use Microsoft Clarity to understand clicks, scrolling, and page use on the public homepage through masked session replays and heatmaps. Microsoft receives website interaction and technical data, such as browser and device information, page and referrer addresses, and network information. Analytics cookies may be stored after you allow them. We also use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and page views on the public homepage. Google receives technical data such as browser and device information and network information; the page address is fixed to the public homepage and referrers are limited to a public origin. No JoTT content, phone numbers, user IDs, form values, or query strings are intentionally sent. Google advertising storage, advertising personalization, and Google Signals are disabled.

Analytics is off by default. The console, private JoTTs, signup submissions, payment pages, and pages with query strings are excluded. All homepage text is masked before the recording script loads. Your choice is optional, separate from SMS consent, and saved in this browser for up to 180 days. You can change it here. Turning analytics off prevents future collection; it does not erase data already collected.

Microsoft Privacy Statement · Subprocessors

Website analytics notice updated 29 October 2026. Adding Google Analytics requires a new Allow choice; earlier Clarity-only choices do not carry forward. Your JoTT privacy-policy version remains shown below.

Off. Optional website analytics will not load unless you choose Allow.

After changing your choice, return to the homepage. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals keep analytics off.

Age

JoTT is for adults. You must be at least 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and the service is not directed to children under 13. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we will delete it.

What we collect

Information about other people

Relationship memories often include details about other people. Only submit information you have a lawful right to provide. Do not use JoTT to harass, stalk, or unlawfully monitor anyone. Mentioning someone does not make them a JoTT user. If someone asks you (or us) to remove information you submitted about them, cooperate promptly — we may delete or restrict content when required by law or our policies.

Storage

JoTT stores the memories you send in your account so you can save them and find them later by text or in the web console. Storage uses encryption in transit and at rest. Your JoTTs stay in your account — they are not sold and are not shared with other people or advertisers.

AI and automated processing

To help you save and find memories, JoTT may use automated and AI-assisted processing on the content you send. That processing is for operating the product you asked for — organizing and returning your own memories — not for building advertising profiles or selling relationship data.

AI training: We do not use your thought and memory to train third-party foundation models for their general or public use. When a live AI provider is enabled, it acts as a subprocessor to help operate JoTT for you. Preferred private-recall configuration keeps processing on TextJoTT-operated systems without sending memories to third-party model training. See Subprocessors.

Internal system details are confidential. Publicly, the benefit is simple: text what mattered; ask later when you need it.

Subprocessors

Vendors that help us deliver SMS, payments, hosting, and (when enabled) AI processing are listed at textjott.com/subprocessors. Enterprise DPA requests: textjott.com/dpa.

Export and deletion

Beta retention — no permanent guarantee

We do not guarantee that beta data will be permanently retained. Pre-release systems may be reset, migrated, or discontinued. Do not treat JoTT as your only copy of important information. Export anything you need to keep.

Product feedback

If you send feedback, bug reports, or usability notes, you consent to JoTT collecting and analyzing that feedback to improve the product. Your thought and memory remain yours; ordinary product feedback may be used to operate and improve JoTT. See the Private Beta Participation Agreement.

What not to send

Do not enter passwords, payment-card or other financial account numbers, government IDs, authentication codes for other services, medical records or other highly sensitive health information, or similar prohibited content. JoTT is for intentional relationship context — not secrets, banking, or medical records. We may refuse or delete prohibited content.

SMS messaging privacy

Program: TextJoTT™ transactional / conversational SMS at +1 (831) 777-5688 (831-777-JOTT). Website: https://textjott.com.

Brand & name

Text Jott.™ (black leather + gold) is the primary marketing mark. jott.™ is the secondary compact seal (SMS / contact avatar). TextJoTT™ / textjott™ is the company and service word mark. Use the names for the real service — not as a catch-all for other tools. The brand stands for intentional, private thought and memory.

Phone contacts

Writing to your phone’s contacts needs your permission on your device. This live product keeps JoTTs private by default — contacts sync is off until you opt in.

Sensitivity

Everyday relationship context can live in JoTT. Highly restricted details are rejected. Sensitive JoTTs stay in JoTT only and will not sync to Contact Notes.
